PFC Hy Sukenik was a medic aboard a hospital ship in the European and Pacific Ocean theaters during W.W.II. After the war he pursued business and accounting studies but continued to assist in the transportation of the ill and injured as a member of the Bayside N.Y. Community Ambulance Corps for over 20 years.
