Mr. Boyd served 3 separate times. His 36-year government career in both military and civilian service included US Army Signal and Air Corps and a tour as a US Navy technician in the Caribbean/South America during WWII. He entered civilian service with the Bureau of Federal Airways (now the FAA) as chief of Flight Information Service for places in the Caribbean. When he was with Civil Defense he was Director in charge of communications for the whole Southeastern United States. He served in this capacity during the Cuban missile crisis. He was a co-founder of Navy Federal Credit Union.
