Peachtree Corners Memorial Day Challenge
On Memorial Day we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation.
The Memorial Day Challenge is an obstacle course-themed physical competition for competitors ages 9 to 18. Its purpose is to provide a physical competition for our youth and to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Memorial Day and those we honor.
Who: Boys and girls ages 9 to 18
When: Monday May 25, 2026
Start Time: 10:30 AM
Where: Peachtree Corners Town Green (Fort Pain), 5140 Town Center Blvd.
Registration Fee: $20, which includes t-shirt, dog tags, and refreshments. No refunds.
Award Ceremony: Immediately following the competition
The King of Pops will hand out 250 popsicles to the participants on race day. T-shirts and signs provided by Vox-pop-uli.

The award ceremony will take place immediately following the event on Monday May 25, 2026. The categories are:

Events
Multi-Rig
Navigate a 30-foot-long obstacle using rings and bars using only your hands. At no time should your feet touch the ground. You have to stay underneath the Rig and cannot use the structures or side supports.
Cargo Net
The Cargo Net is a 20-foot high web-like structure built out of sturdy ropes and is secured at both ends. The net is attached to wooden frames. Participants must climb up and over the top of the net, using their hands and feet to navigate the openings.
Rope Climb
Climb a 16-foot rope and touch the support beam at the top and then descend the rope.
Box Jumps
Jump onto a 24-inch platform with both feet landing on the platform at the same time. Complete 25.
Log Roll
The Log Roll consists of a series of logs placed at varying heights and distances from each other, creating a narrow path that participants must walk across. The goal is to traverse the logs without falling off or touching the ground.
Six Vaults
The Six Vaults consists of six evenly spaced vertical barriers that participants must jump over in quick succession.
Monkey Bars
There are multiple Monkey Bar obstacles at Ft Pain. Two sets consist of a 30-foot-long series of metal horizontal metal bars approximately 7 feet off the ground. A third set consists of a 15-foot series of metal horizontal bars that include an incline climb up to approximately 12 feet. The rungs are spaced evenly, providing enough room for participants to swing from one bar to the next. The primary goal is to traverse the entire length of the monkey bars by swinging from one bar to the next, using only your hands and arms for support.
Wire Crawl
A crawling obstacle where you need to stay low to the ground and crawl underneath wire for approximately 25 yards The competitor may use any method (crawling or rolling) but must stay low to the ground and under the wire the entire time.
Rope Traverse
Crawl along a 30-foot horizontal rope that is fixed approximately 9 feet above the ground between two wooden posts. Pull yourself along the rope, never touching the ground, until you touch the far post.
Run
Run 1/3 mile on the course.

Free instructional sessions taught by veterans will be offered at Fort Pain:
